This webcast will present an overview of the first known successful urban tree classification (ash) utilizing highly emergent hyperspectral imaging technology. The work, undertaken by the City of Milwaukee, WI in cooperation with federal and state agencies, as well as remote sensing experts, was completed in February 2009 with an overall ash classification accuracy of 84% and up to 93% accuracy for larger ash trees. This project was fundamental to Milwaukee’s multi-faceted strategy for EAB readiness and response planning.
