i-Tree Academy Training Program Begins in January – Register Now

The US Forest Service and several key partners are offering a live online training called the i-Tree Academy, designed to introduce i-Tree tools to a class of online participants. The Academy will be delivered by experienced members of the i-Tree project team, with the goal of helping users utilize the i-Tree software suite of tools which can be used to inventory, assess and report on the value of urban forests and greenspace.

The course consists of bi-monthly online web sessions over a 4-month period, self-paced learning modules, assignments and completion of a student developed project. Participants will be able to focus on a specific urban forestry issue of interest to them. Each month participants will complete assignments and reading related to the two-hour online monthly web-meetings. The goal of the course is to develop a cadre of individuals who can use i-Tree training to complete community projects, or conduct basic i-Tree Training for others.

The course begins on January 22, 202o via the web.  Course sessions will be from 12:00-2:00 PM via the web. Independent work is required and there will be short assignments to complete, intended to have students explore opportunities for utilizing i-Tree in their professional or volunteer work.  Registration for the i-Tree Academy is now open.  The deadline for applying for the program is January 3, 2020.
