Field Data Collection

TreeResearchField Data Collection will yield more accurate estimates than Office Based Assessments, but normally takes more time and effort to implement. For example, various crews may need to visit a large number of sample sites across an area.

Detailed specifications on setting up a project and carrying out field data collection can be found in each of the i-Tree software component manuals. Persons considering their own field based projects should be aware that the i-Tree programs require the colleciton of specific types and amounts of data to accurately project the structure and benefits of urban vegetation. The validity of results from these field based projects, in part, will depend on how closely the user adheres to project setup and sampling protocols.
