UNRI Webcast, April 27th – Creating Change with Science: Research on Urban Forestry Technology Transfer

“Creating Change with Science: Research on the Effectiveness of Urban Forestry Technology Transfer”will feature Dr. Kathleen Wolf, University of Washington, who who will introduce recent research findings related to technology transfer activities related to urban forestry. Urban forestry scientists have expanded our knowledge of urban forest benefits and ecosystem services. Technology transfer (TT) is being done to share such information with professional and public audiences. How effective are these TT efforts? Dr. Wolf has been doing research to evaluate the impact of TT on local government and urban forestry programs.

This webcast will share findings from our study of science communications “products.” It will offer ideas, based on social science, to better place TT for local government decision-making and action. Dr. Wolf will offer ideas on how the quality of technology transfer products and the process of their transfer might be improved.
