The most well attended UNRI webcast presented thus far in 2009, was the session on “ Understanding Urban Natural Resources: A Closer Look at Geospatial Data“, by Dr. David Nowak and Phillip Rodbell, USDA Forest Service . This informational webcast was designed to present a dynamic, interactive overview of the latest tools that are being used to prepare timely, accurate and easy to understand reports on the natural resources found in a community or region. During the session, sources of information and datasets were outlined, as well as how this information can be used to address your assessment, analysis or management needs. Also, i-Tree Vue, a new, interactive tool for data analysis and reporting was introduced.
The webcast is now available for online replay, or download, at http://www.unri.org/webcasts/archive/. The presentation provides an interesting and informative look at readily available geospatial information that can be used for analysis and reporting.
